Happy women’s day 2019

There is a noticeable symphony being played around the world today. That symphony speaks of the independent, unorthodox, proud women. Yes, it is the International Women’s Day! It is the day to celebrate the women in your life. In my life I have never believed in a particular day to celebrate women though, but a date is necessary, rather customary to remind you of their contributions in your life lest you forget it.

So, here’s wishing all those strong women who competed in a man’s world, defeating them and breaking the taboos to earn the place which was rightfully theirs from the start but usurped in the past by manly morals and ego, a VERY HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY! Today I celebrate every woman that works so hard despite the hardships and still keeps a smile on her face. The woman that relentlessly slays her goals because she knows she can do it. The woman that loves unconditionally even when hurt because God gave you a special gift. That woman that speaks her truth no matter what because she knows her decisions and what comes out of her mouth will somehow influence others, so she is careful, smart and a beacon of light. A hand to help and an ear to listen. I celebrate the woman that supports other women in their roles in the society. I celebrate the woman that shines without having to dim another’s shine.

A woman that knows her worth doesn’t measure herself against another woman but stands strong, calmed and self-confident. You make the world come alive. You make the world colorful. You are the inspiration behind all that happens. You are the pillar of strength to many around you, the centrifugal force of your own little world, called family. I love women and celebrate having several of them in my life every day, I hope they all do too!! And to all those who battle their various circumstances, the hurdles, the sacrifices and the compromises they make, I wish them all inner strength!

Dear woman, look at yourself in the mirror and be your own favorite person. Every curve, every freckle, every hair on your skin. Because you are worth your tears, your laughter, your joys and your pains. You are worth the broken roads you’ve traveled, the nights you’ve spent alone with a bottle of champagne, the times you climbed out of graves. You are worth the smiles only you see, the ones you generously share, then all the others in between. You’re worth the love that’s meant for you and the pains you’ve broken through. Dear woman, look at yourself; you love you and you do you.

Gender equality is not a belief, its not an idea- it is a key element of the society that will define whether we humans shall march ahead towards glory and advancement, or sink into the abyss of an existential doom. If attempting to make the world a civilized one makes you a bad woman in the eyes of the dumb patriarchal society, then by all means, be it. Any nation that does not learn to place women on the same pedestal of respect and dignity as men will never in a thousand years attain greatness.

Women are no sheep. Women are no fragile showpieces to be placed above the fireplace. Women of the thinking society are the builders of nations. Women of the sentient society are the builders of the world. And given the same honor and dignity as men, women can build a much better and more harmonious world. Harmony and conflict-solving run in their veins (except this one crazy ex I had that almost stabbed me), whereas men have evolved into more authoritarian creatures. The world does not need a good woman who is meekly obedient to the uncivilized social norms that advocate female inferiority. The world needs those bad women who can think for themselves, to break the primeval norms of the society that consistently drag the human civilization back to the stone-age.

Women are beautiful, sophisticated, and complex creatures but they are also human. She is not better, wiser, stronger, more intelligent, more creative, or more responsible than a man. Likewise, she is never less. Equality is a given. A woman is human. Women are the nourishing power of the Universe. Whoever has deep respect for women of the world, will remain free from diseases.

Yours truly,
